Jason Momoa is definitely one of the most attractive Hollywood actors nowadays. His unique and badass looks have made us swoon since we first saw him as Khal Drogo in HBO’s Game of Thrones. With his messy looks, his bold style, and really masculine vibes, he’s had no trouble standing out. However, there comes a time in everybody’s lives when changes are necessary, especially if it’s for a good cause. The new Aquaman decided to get rid of his statement beard to speak about a very important matter.
In a video on his YouTube channel, Momoa appears shaving his beard with a friend, while they give an important message on recycling. They explain how aluminum is one of the most recycled materials on Earth, and how it can be our best aid to battle all the problems caused by the massive use of plastic. One of the best examples Momoa uses is actually bottled water, a product we consume constantly without thinking about the impact this has on the planet. His message is clear: if we start using aluminum containers to consume water we could reduce the damage plastic does to the planet. According to him, about 70% of the aluminum that has been created is still in use, so it’s not really a material we just waste.

So, you might be wondering what on Earth this has to do with his precious beard? Well, that’s the reason you’re actually here. According to Momoa, everybody would be more concerned about him losing the beard than actually talking about recycling, so he decided to give up one of his statement features to start an important conversation. Now, it’s true that this new look will not last forever since we already know Aquaman will have a sequel, and how weird would it be if Aquaman appeared without that iconic beard?
Now, we’ve already seen him without that “beast” as he calls it, and though it’s kind of weird seeing him without it, at the end of the day, it’s just hair. I mean, the message is clear: what’s more important, taking actions on a problem that can end with the world as we know it, or some facial hair? Hair grows back, but the damage we’re causing to the planet with our careless actions might not be reversed. Besides, it’s Jason Momoa, for God’s sake! He looks amazing with or without it!
