One of humanity’s greatest mysteries lies in self-knowledge. That alone seems to spark curiosity and interest in psychology. Each specific trait makes us unique complex beings we’re never able to completely understand. To decode that complicated diagram, several sciences have studied temperament, to classify into four types that describe human personality in broad terms.
It was later revealed that everything that makes up our individual environment, goals, and experiences create an important part of our character. This information helps us improve our self-awareness and that of others. That being said, no subject of science has been able to unravel the entire makeup of personality. Many of these analyses are based on the contributions of Carl Gustav Jung, who developed the concepts of introversion and extroversion.
Beside these terms, Jung researched other relevant elements of personality such as thoughts, feelings, perspective, and cognitive function. Taking all his years of research, presently there are 5 defining personality traits: mind, energy, nature, strategies, and identity. These in turn have created four distinct groups that are classified into four personalities, that psychology believes describe us perfectly.
