As humans, our curiosity awakens our desire to experiment, and of course sex is not devoid of this piqued interest. Each body reacts to pleasure in different ways, and therefore, what stimulates our passions are also diverse.
However, when common ways of achieving pleasure don't seem to satisfy , paraphilia and fetishes work as triggers to let their deepest desires and passions run amok.
Food can also become a great source of pleasure. It doesn't matter what kind of food we're eating, as long as it's delicious. The sensations food can produce in us can be compared to what we experience when we pursuit our sexual drives. In fact, the tongue is an erogenous part par excellence. Sensible spots in this area can be used to experience an extremely delightful bliss. The process of eating stimulates the same regions of the brain that produces physical responses to sensations. So what happens when both sex and food come together?
Sex and food are the protagonists of Wishcandy's illustrations, a series that blends life's greatest pleasures. These images portray an erotic experience in which women and food become the visual stimulation to let our darkest desires run wild.
These women experience ultimate pleasure in images where food becomes their own stimulant. By fusing these characters with food, Wishcandy also lets us see our human weaknesses and flaws. Through soft lines and pastel hues, the artist depicts sensuality and the emotions derived from it in a provocative combination of exquisite candies and sexual games. Her characters are innocent, but that doesn't prevent them from surrendering to their lust. They become the appetizer the viewer will need to devour.
Wishcandy is the embodiment of retro culture and street lifestyle merged with a well-structured kitsch style representing beauty through the grotesque. Through her images, this illustrator shows how the cliché of femininity and girliness reaches beyond the sexual.
Wishcandy's illustrations show sarcastically precocious beings. Through their titillating stares and body language, they invite the viewer to a land of pleasure and fun.
This illustrator defines her own work as a sensual horror show covered in candy. Why? Well, these not so innocent characters are also depicted with knives and ounces of blood, disguised behind a sweet, cynic smile, capable of awakening our darkest desires.
