Marina Manoukian

is a reader and a writer who sometimes dabbles in collage art.
She currently resides in Berlin. She is pursuing a Masters in English Philology
. Her poems "Impression As Expression" and "Polite to Stare" present a fresh vision of love, sexuality and art.

IMPRESSION AS EXPRESSION

It is not surprising that particularly successful symbolizations are taken for imitations. What

a privilege to guarantee; that which is made present by the symbol may be understood as

reality. I love you. I love you. I love you. If said enough maybe it’ll reaffirm. How else can

you manifest a welling a swelling a climax. If no one says it how could it. Peel back layers of

membrane to expose that original iteration first thought. Otherwise the whole act is a failure

an endless work in progress.

POLITE TO STARE

They're just regular brown eyes. They come up whenever I masturbate.

Sure the image of a dick is fine it helps with the buildup but you never see one when you

come anyway. It stays inside while you fall into a pool. Every passing word and stroke stains

the iris.

You can tell when eyes are holding. When they're filled to the brim with what can almost be

inhaled. What can almost be soaked in.

There are only a handful of moments when it’s acceptable to stare.
