So, apparently, the Internet does have a smell and is now a cologne

Scent of the Internet is a new cologne that tries to capture the feelings, sensations, and event actions surrounding our daily use of the internet.

Google anything that comes up to your mind and you will certainly see pictures and read information, but you won’t be able to know how it smells. The intangibility of the web lacks odor, but a group of perfumers has decided to create and bottle it up.

This perfume is a collaboration between Highsnobriety, the perfume makers at Society of Scent, and the Berlin-based art collective New Models.

According to its description, this cologne evokes “an extractive web of raw minerals and sweat, spiking dopamine and desperate self-monetization from the vantage of a polyurethane chair."

I’m not sure of its success because, who will want to smell like a combination of sweat and office chair; however, for those daring to try it prepare your credit card. 

The 15-milliliter bottle costs $170 and is available only through the HIGHArt Museum website

Of course, the creative process to fill the odor void of the internet has its merits, but certainly will be weird to leave your house smelling like the web.
