My best friend is getting married soon, and I couldn’t be happier for her. We’ve spent a lifetime together (almost 20 years!) and we have been each other’s support system, confidants, and guardian angels. We’ve grown up together, and it’s an honor for me to be there at her wedding as she reads her vows and says “I do” to the man I know will be there for her ‘til death do them part. Still, I am and always will be her one and only partner in crime. I know we’re no longer those reckless kids we used to be, but still, we deserve one last adventure, one last spur-of-the-moment thing to do. So, why not get ourselves matching best friend tattoos?

I know it might sound corny (and I swear this idea is not being inceptioned by chick flicks or cheesy TV shows), but ever since we decided to play the parts of “responsible adults,” we’ve lost that rebelliousness that used to bring us together. Getting a tattoo that represents our unconditional love is totally worth it. As Carrie says in Sex and The City (I know, I know. I said I hadn’t been influenced by ridiculous chick flicks, but you’ve got to trust me on this one) in a line that became one of my mottos in life (besides “trust no b*tch”): “maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates, and guys are just people to have fun with.” I know for sure she’s getting married to the love of her life, but as for us, standing next to her at the altar, I need to know that we are meant to be and that loves may come, go, or stay, but at the end of they, we’re each other’s true soulmates.
