Award-winning French actor, Gaspard Ulliel, who would be part of the upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight, died at the age of 37. His family reported that the actor died from injuries sustained in a skiing accident for which he was hospitalized on Tuesday in Grenoble, France.
According to AFP, the French police are already investigating the causes of the accident, which occurred in the mountainous area of Haute-Savoie.
Gaspard Ulliel is known for his interpretation of Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising, as well as for giving life to the designer Yves Saint Laurent in the biopic Saint Laurent. He was also the face of Chanel’s Bleu fragrance.
His work earned him two César Awards: in 2004 for Most Promising Actor for A Very Long Engagement, with Audrey Tautou, and in 2017 for Best Actor for his role in Xavier Dolan’s It’s Only The End of the World.
The actor will appear in Moon Knight, the upcoming Marvel series set to premiere on March 30, on Disney Plus.
Ulliel had a son with French actress Gaëlle Piétri.
