Carlos Santana is one of the greatest representatives of Mexican talent worldwide and over the years continues to inspire new generations of musicians.
Santana has always kept his private life private from the media, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been involved in one controversy or another. And the most recent one is costing him the disappointment of his fans.
Carlos Santana’s Transphobic Speech That Disappointed His Fans
Through social networks, several videos have gone viral in which the Mexican-born guitarist launched comments against the trans community during a show in New Jersey, last July. During his performance at the Hard Rock Live in Atlantic City, the musician talked about knowing who you are and the classic, but terrible and horrifying comment: “A woman is a woman and a man is a man.”
And, for many, he has already joined a canceled club. “When God created you and me, before we came out of the womb, you know who you are and what you are. Later, when you grow up, you see things, and you start to believe that you can be something that sounds good, but you know it’s not right. Because a woman is a woman and a man is a man. That’s it. Whatever you want to do in the closet, that’s your business. I’m okay with that,” the guitarist revealed.
If everything was already going bad with those words, things got worse after Santana continued and made reference to Dave Chappelle, a comedian who generated controversy after he made “jokes” about the LGBT+ community in 2021, specifically about trans people.

A Reddit user named Katekant was one of the first to report the situation and revealed that he had attended the concert with his family, and the guitarist would have stopped playing just to give his anti-trans speech. “Santana stopped and spent 15 minutes saying the most shocking anti-trans shit I’ve ever heard,” he confessed.
As expected, Internet users went after the guitarist and commented that he should be canceled due to the cruel speech he gave during his live performance. The musician’s fans are also very upset and have expressed their disappointment in their idol.
