This year marks the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain‘s tragic passing. Coincidentally, now a private investigator has made public what he claims is the official autopsy report of the Nirvana frontman’s death.
Tom Grant, who has devoted his life to the investigation of Kurt Cobain’s death, published this week a link that directs to the download of the musician’s alleged autopsy report, which, if true, would be the very first time it’s made public in thirty years.
According to Grant, this PDF that’s available on X, former Twitter, is “the first time this report has been made public.” For years, Grant has been sharing his investigation on the matter, although he pretty much came to the conclusion we all have that, sadly, Cobain took his own life in 1994. However, what makes this relevant is the possibility of this being the real thing!

Back in the day, due to Washington’s state laws, the official report was only disclosed to Cobain’s family. For three decades, the document has been safeguarded, which also makes people wonder, how Tom Grant got a copy of it; he doesn’t explain this.
The alleged document has some graphic details on what the police found and the state of the body (which we won’t be delving into due to its dark nature), as well as the alleged type of substances found in his system. What we can all say is that it coincides with the official version that she used a gun on himself.
TMZ tried to contact the King County authorities for comment on the alleged document Tom Grant published but claimed that they couldn’t disclose anything due to state laws. So, whether it’s a fake document or not, it’s true that even after 30 years, Kurt Cobain remains a relevant figure of interest and a very missed legend.
