Almost 20 years after the last episode of the Friends series was broadcast, the enigmatic program continues to captivate old and new generations. That is why it is not surprising that the public is obsessed with everything related to the sitcom. The most recent event was an auction in the United Kingdom of two original scripts corresponding to the end of the fourth season.
The Hanson Ross auction house was in charge of carrying out the bidding in Royson. The two original Friends scripts were found in a trash can in 1988 by a worker at Fountain Studios. After being delivered, the manuscripts were kept for 20 years, until the man decided to clean his home and take them out again, so he looked for a true fan to give it to him. Despite the passage of time, the texts were in excellent condition.
The scripts were for an episode corresponding to the episode ‘The One With Ross’s Wedding’, an episode that had a two-part finale for the fourth season. The starting price of the writing began at 700 euros and closed at 25,500 euros. The name of the buyer was not revealed, it is only known that he was an international online buyer, as revealed by the BBC. Up to 219 people bid in the auction to become owners of the scripts.

“The global interest was impressive.” “I can’t believe that result and the impact that this discovery has had. Buyers go crazy for these types of scripts,” said an official at the auction house that specializes in original objects related to the world of fame and royalty. After the death of actor Matthew Perry, interest in everything related to the series has increased, according to the American specialized press, the nineties series was positioned as one of the most watched on HBO Max in the United States.
