After nine seasons and great memories following Ted Mosby’s love journey, the creators of How I Met Your Mother decided to move on to their next big project following the same creative line, but with another great cast that now tells the story of Sophie and how she met her kid’s father. HIMYM fans are definitely going crazy about this new reboot, especially for all the details that, so far, are promised to be included through each one of the chapters; and now, the only thing we have to wait for is to see if this series will meet the audience’s very high expectations.
How is it different from the original series?
How I Met Your Father is a more updated version of the classic rom-com story that everybody knows. This time, the main character, Sophie, is going through her memories regarding a bunch of failed Tinder dates and what she thinks is very bad luck in the love department. Following young and grown-up Sophie on her attempts for finding her one true love while living in New York City, the audience will go through this very exciting series at the same time she is trying to explain to her son how she met her father.
The cast of How I Met Your Father
The creators of How I Met Your Mother, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, teamed up with Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger to make this whole new project come to life.
Starring Hilary Duff as young Sophie and Kim Cattrall as grown-up Sophie, this reboot will include the participation of Chris Lowel as Jesse, Francia Raisa as Valentina (both part of Sophie’s friend group), Tom Ainsley as Charlie (Valentina’s love interest), Tien Tran as Ellen (Jesse’s sister), Suraj Sharma as Sid (Jesse’s roommate), Ashley Reyes as Hannah (Sid’s love interest), Daniel Augustin as Ian (Sophie’s Tinder match), and Josh Peck as Drew (Vice-principal at Jesse’s elementary school).
What details have been released so far?
Besides having launched the official trailer and announced the amazing cast, the first two episodes of the series will be available on Hulu on January 18th, 2022. From then on, the rest of the season will be released weekly.
Only one season has been confirmed, and it will have 10 episodes. Each one of these is expected to be 30 minutes long and have multi- and single-camera elements into them to resemble the same format as the original series.
This is definitely a highly anticipated launch that HIMYM fans can’t miss, and its premiere date is so close! How I Met Your Father will be the perfect series to watch to start the New Year on the right foot and continue being involved in the amazing plotline that started years ago and everyone fell in love with.
