This Pennywise might not be as scary as the original from the 80s, portrayed by Tim Curry, but it will definitely give you nightmares and goosebumps. Now that the reboot of the Stephen King’s classic It is getting a second episode, the It: Chapter 2 trailer promises that it’ll be even scarier and more thrilling than the first one.
Reviews about this reboot of the classic horror film are mixed: while it has been fascinating for some, for others, it is just a Millennial remake with poor resources and an unnecessary sense of humor. The thing is that the creator of the character, Stephen King himself, enjoyed the new version of the scary clown.
This second chapter is about the main characters returning to Derry as adults, and how they have to face It and its spine-chilling versions. We will also see an adult Bill, played by James McAvoy.
Bill Skarsgard’s interpretation of Pennywise is scary in so many unexpected and even psychedelic ways, and as we find more adults in this trailer, we expect it to be more frightening than ever. The Losers’ Club is a group of adults who have to return to the place that gave them the best and worst moments in their life, and now that one of them has died because of Pennywise, they have to finish what started years before.
It: Chapter 2 will premiere in September. This film will be the end of a saga that plagued the nightmares of a whole generation in the 80s and 90s, thanks to the spooky story by Stephen King and the amazing character played by Tim Curry. Rumor has it that this sequel’s length is about three hours, considering also the length of King’s novel.
“It will be an intense experience, so bring your adult diapers to the cinema,” said filmmaker and director Andrés Muschietti.
