Is it wrong to say that I had a crush on the faun in The Chronicles Of Narnia (2005)? Is that too weird? I mean, I know that he’s a half-man, half-goat creature, but wasn’t he cute and kinda hot even? Was it just me? Seriously?! Okay, okay, but what about Professor Xavier in the new franchise of X-Men: First Class (2011)? That’s not that weird, right? Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that I love James McAvoy to the point that I think he’s probably one of my top 5 celebrity crushes.

This 39-year-old Scottish actor has captivated audiences as the faun in the Narnia saga, entertained us with his action movies, made us fall in love with his Robbie Turner in Atonement (2007), and even scared the heck out of us with his multiple characters in Split (2016). There’s no doubt that he’s a wonder to watch on the big screen, so, as a personal tribute, here are some of his best moments on screen, as I anxiously wait to see him in the upcoming film, Glass (2019).

1 – In The Last King of Scotland (2006), one of his first great performances, where he plays a young doctor in over his head in Idi Amin’s Uganda.

2 – When his 1940s style and that library scene took our breath away in Atonement (2007).

3 – When he proved that a good actor like him will provide a great performance in even the most mainstream films.

4 – With his multiple characters in Split (2016). Miss Patricia deserved an Oscar, don’t you think?

5 – Or what about that time he openly showed his bromance with Michael Fassbender? Like, can we see some eroticism in the saga? Just a suggestion.

6 – The time he proved he’s such a skilled actor that he made a dinosaur impression and actually nailed it.

7 – This: “What part of British culture do Americans need to catch up with?”

8 – The countless times he’s been active in charities.

9 – The fact that he can take the criticism with poise and humor.

10- And that, after all the work, fame, and recognition, he’s still the same old down-to-earth guy from Glasgow.

So, here are ten reasons why this Scottish actor is so awesome (and dreamy). I can go on and on talking about his talent, craft, sense of humor, and good heart, but I think I’m just going to wait for his next role to give some more thoughts on why James McAvoy is simply the best.
