
Actress Kathryn Kates, who appeared on TV shows like “Orange is the New Black” and “Seinfeld” died this Wednesday, January 26 at the age of 73 due to lung cancer.
In a post published by Headline Talent Agency, Kathryn’s representative, it announced the passing away of the tv and theatre actress.
“Our mighty @officialkathrynkates has passed away. She will always be remembered and adored in our hearts as the powerful force of nature she was. She loved this craft and had enough patience to fill 10 ships. A true icon. We will miss you.”

According to CNN, the actress was diagnosed with lung cancer 20 years ago and treated it, however, it returned recently.
Kathryn was born in New York in 1949 and in 1974 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. She was a very important figure in the local theater scene and even founded the Colony Theatre in Burbank, California.
She had recurring roles in the ‘90s sitcom “Seinfeld” and more recently she participated in the Netflix show “Orange is the New Black”.
