Actor Luke Perry, known for his work in Riverdale (2017) and Beverly Hills 90210 (1990), passed away this Monday morning due to complications after suffering a massive stroke on Wednesday February 27th. A spokesperson had stablished that he was under observation while friends and former cast members of 90210 shared their thoughts and prayers for Perry’s speed recovery.
Perry was worldwide famous for his portrayal of Dylan McKay in Aaron’s Spelling 90210. Back in the 90s, way before Netflix and its possibilities to have television on demand, people waited every week to see this show who happened to be one of the most iconic teenage dramas in America. Everybody was hooked to this show for its plot, which explored relationships and sexuality in upper class teenagers that lived in Beverly Hills, therefore the name of the show which is Beverly Hills ZIP code, 90210. His character was Brenda’s love interest, played by Shannen Doherty, making them one of the most famous on screen couples ever in American television.

Since 2017, the actor played Archie’s dad, Fred, in Riverdale and he was part of the cast of Tarantino’s upcoming Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019). Unfortunately, this morning his publicist confirmed the news of his death:
“He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
The health emergency news coincided with an announcement to reboot 90210 with the original cast, almost 20 years after the series ended. Perry also appeared in films such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1992), 8 Seconds (1994) and The Fifth Element (1997). He was also a special guest on series such as Oz, Will & Grace, Family Guy, Law & Order: SVU and Criminal Minds, among others.
