There are few things more disheartening than investing years of your time watching a TV show for it to end up disappointing you and leaving you with more questions than answers, broken hearted, and confused. Some of them are so bad that they turn huge numbers of fans into sworn enemies. This list complies some of the worst series finales that drove us really mad. Caution, you might find some spoilers!
1. 24

@twentyfourlasthour
The 24 story arch got very complicated after seven years, so when the final season was announced, everyone expected things to be resolved. Instead, it ran like a normal day, and the last episode felt exactly like another season finale. Jack Bauer was, once again, an outlaw, and none of the pieces came together. Four years later, they got a chance at redemption with a ninth 12-episode season. It started out great, and as it developed, the loose ends from before started to get tied up. It all seemed to be headed in the right direction, but in the last episode, the writers managed to screw it all up, leaving us (once again) with a prisoner Jack, a dead girlfriend, and nothing but conflict.
2. How I Met Your Mother

@himymposts
A fan favorite. Nine seasons of pure joy and laughter, until the outrageous finale. It took an entire year to get the audience on board with the idea of Robin marrying Barney, and Ted letting go, only for them to get divorced in the first five minutes of the last episode and Ted ending up with her in the end. That was one terrible episode to wrap up such a beloved series. Really, writers? REALLY?
3. Gossip Girl

Official Gossip Girl
Not that the show hadn’t gone full-on ridiculous by the end, but the final episode was a combination of the worst kind of cheesy and a terrible decision to solve the show’s main mystery with the most unlikely answer. Dan Humphrey was Gossip Girl? No, that doesn’t make any sense. Did they even look back at older episodes before coming up with something so illogical? It seems like the writers were more worried about coming up with a shocking twist, than doing something that actually worked for the story. Good job, guys… NOT.
4. House of Cards

@houseofcards
I am not going to go into too much detail with this one because it is fairly recent, and a lot of people may not have seen it yet, but let’s just say that, if you were hoping for answers, the House of Cards series finale is not the place to look.
5. Two and a Half Men

@two.and.a.half.man
To be fair, the series really died when Charlie Sheen left. After four years of it getting worse and worse trying to fill that void, we couldn’t really expect a satisfying finale. However, they really went way below our already low expectations by making it all about Charlie’s character. They literally abandoned every other plot line, to make a final episode exclusively devoted to kill off a character they had already killed off. Maybe Chuck Lorre should put his personal issues aside and show more respect for his own work.
