There’s no doubt that The Lion King is the most anticipated film of the summer. The anticipation not only comes from the fact that it’s the remake of a beloved classic filled with top technology and animation, but also because of its star-studded cast, which includes John Oliver, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, and veteran voice actor James Earl Jones. But of course, the cherry on top is the one and only Queen Bey (I mean, even fellow cast members have been fan girl-ing at the premieres).
Just a few days before the movie’s worldwide premiere, Disney has been releasing all sorts of sneak peeks and unique content we’ve all been loving. But perhaps what excited us all the most was the amazing soundtrack that was released a few days ago. After listening to the new song performed by Beyoncé on a loop, we were anxiously waiting for its video to be released to see our lioness in all her glory.
The moment finally came last night, and let me tell you that, after watching it repeatedly, I can only say it’s seriously good. “Spirit” doesn’t only capture the essence of The Lion King through the rhythms and lyrics, but paired with Beyoncé’s unique voice, it has all it takes to make it an instant anthem and a Disney classic.
And if the song isn’t enough for you, let’s talk about the amazing video, which combines some iconic scenes from the new film with Beyoncé’s signature visuals. We know that Queen Bey is always working to wow her millions of fans and to bring new things to the table, and this video isn’t the exception.

But beyond the great choreography, breathtaking landscapes, and really (really) stunning costumes, the one thing we’ve all been going crazy about is Blue Ivy’s appearance on the video. The seven-year-old is truly a star in the making, and her presence in the video proves she really has the artistic genes of both her iconic parents.
This video is definitely the best gift for all of us who can’t just wait to watch the movie, so sit back, relax, and be wowed by the talented Beyoncé:
