For thousands of years, we’ve been obsessed with unicorns. Whether it’s because of their mythical origins, or just because we love their majestic looks, there’s no doubt that this obsession will remain for a while. Though the image of the unicorn has changed considerably through over time, there’s no doubt that in the past decades (if not more), we’ve been captivated by the iconic visual reign of the colorful unicorn.
Just think about it: nowadays, it’s impossible not to encounter one of these creatures in our daily life, which kind of misses the main essence of unicorns. From clothes to toys, tattoos, TV shows, art, cakes, candy, stationery, makeup, sexual terms, coffee, and of course, hair, there are unicorns everywhere, and to be honest, it’s hard not to feel allured by them. But why?
Unicorns represent a rare beauty. They symbolize magic, mysticism, and unattainable beauty, traits that, when we apply to ourselves, can make us feel really special. Going back to the trends, and the subject we’re dealing with today, unicorn hair is perhaps the most fashionable and enticing way to unleash your unique soul. You can go for a full unicorn mane, or try these popular hidden effects for a more mystical look.

Though there’s no specific way to get unicorn hair in terms of color combinations. This one is generally differentiated from rainbow hair by the use of pastels and neons, unlike the latter, that goes for more bright colors. The main idea here is to create an effect that evokes that ethereal and magical vibe. The easiest (and for me, the most beautiful) way to achieve it is by prioritizing a pastel blue or purple layer that will contrast with the other colors. However, more colorful hues can also create a unicorn effect.
A little disclaimer: as with any fantasy color effect, unicorn hair requires a lot of maintenance and commitment. These colors fade quite easily, and if you want your mane to keep that bright and shiny appearance, you’ll have to get at least one touch-up every two weeks. Now, these colors also require a very deep and intense bleaching process to really make the colors pop. The great thing about these, though, is that you’ll have a really nice color base that will allow you to experiment with tons of fantasy trends without having to wait too long for the colors to vanish.

Yes, unicorn hair isn’t for everybody, and you have to be willing to commit fully, but isn’t that the main essence of these gorgeous creatures, though?
