The most important date in the lunar calendar, aka Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year, will take place on February 1st, welcoming the Year of the Water Tiger. This celebration is mostly celebrated in Asian countries but anyone who desires it can be part of on the first full moon between the winter and spring equinox, which is usually on the first days of February.
Just as it is done in the Occidental New Year’s festivity, the Chinese New Year comes along with multiple rituals that are said to guarantee welfare and prosperity for the upcoming months. Some of them are held each year as a proper tradition for this holiday, and others depend on the animal that corresponds each year, but all of them are good ways to manifest your intentions.
Traditional rituals
Setting up the table: A New Year celebration must have plenty of food and in this case is important to have three main proteins in most of the dishes – chicken, fish, and pork; each resembling the earth, sea, and sky.
Specific to the Year of the Water Tiger
Colors are important: As we already know, colors have deep meanings behind them and they can be used as a manifestation form to attract positive or negative things into your life. This time, it is advised that you avoid wearing black and blue on a regular basis since those are the representative colors of this year’s animal and it could create a negative energy imbalance.
On the other hand, you can use colors like mint green for freedom and peace on your professional life, imperial yellow for organization and goods acquisition, and fire red for passion, love and even kids.
More open doors: At midnight, it is said that you should open all doors and windows so that the Tiger’s energy flows into your home. These vibes are said to be charged with creativity, new opportunities and openness to dialogue, so it will bring prosperity all along.
As we can see, the New Year always comes with good intentions and a huge boost of motivation to continue moving on into a new cycle in our lives.
