It’s time to get rid of the useless puritanical shyness that makes us feel uncomfortable when talking about the penis. We’ve all felt embarrassment when talking about this organ, when in some countries they associate it with magical and religious issues that go beyond phallocentrism. In Thailand, for instance, there’s a famous “Princess’ Cave” where hundreds of seamen offer a carved penis figure in exchange for protection at sea. Couples wanting to have children also go to this cave to ask the goddess her blessing so they can conceive, since this place is also venerated for its associations to fertility. During the first Sunday of April, the Kanamara Matsuri takes place in Japan. It’s a festival honoring fertility, whose main icon is the male sexual organ. During these celebrations that last for a couple days, the streets of Kawasaki city are filled with phallic figures; from sculptures to candies, all the city is dotted with penises.
Being such an important organ for many cultures, it’s fair to mention that not all penises are the same. The penis comes in many shapes and sizes and these cheeky illustrations by Marion Favolle show its many potentials.

Bent
Those who have a penis with a curvature between 30 and 60 degrees should go to the doctor since it could be a sign of a disease called peyronie, a condition that’s originated by scars inside the organ. These fibrous bodies tend to cause pain during the erection and a dramatic curvature. Some doctors recommend healing this affliction with medicine; however, sometimes a surgery is the only solution.
–
Big head or “Mushroom”
These are penises whose glans, or head of the penis, are thicker than the trunk. Although its shape is ideal for oral sex, it’s not the best for anal activities. Due to its structure, many assure this is the most preferred shape to do all kinds of sex games.
–
Curved
This is the most common type of penis. In contrast with the bent one, its curvature causes no discomfort when erected. In fact, with the right angle, many are capable of reaching and stimulating the G-spot. Of course, this is one of the favorite shapes, no matter where the inclination and the curvature point is. The only inconvenient of having a curved penis is that, if it’s very pronounced, penetration can be very painful for both parties.
–
Thick trunk or “Water bottle”
Many agree that this is the ideal shape for penetration, since it gradually stimulates the vagina due to its slim tip and thick base. Generally, all types have ideal positions.
