I’m the kind of person who tends to buy stuff just because it looks cool or it’s related to something I like, even if I don’t really need it or if I’ll never use it in my life. Brands, of course, are aware that there are millions of people like me who will buy anything as long as it has something that appeals to our tastes, nostalgia, or the things we’re obsessed with. The makeup industry is not oblivious to that, and in the last few years, they’ve been coming up with really cool products based entirely on that idea.
From our favorite movies and series, to artists, decades, cartoons, and basically anything with a huge fandom, makeup brands are now selling more niche collections than ever. So, if you belong to a particular fandom and wish to have everything there is inspired by it, but you’re not really a makeup fan, you should start watching some tutorials because you’ll definitely want to put your hands on these.
Marvel (Sephora Collection)
@thaisephoraWith a huge collection, Sephora has definitely entered the merchandising game. The collection includes a set of face masks with details of the main Marvel characters, a set of really cool brushes, a Black Widow-inspired lipstick and gloss, a Captain America blush, an Iron Man eye shadow pen, a mini Thor eye shadow palette, a balm set, and the star of the collection: a Marvel heroes’ eye shadow palette. This one has 12 metallic shades shaped by the icons of your favorite heroes, and honestly, it looks bomb. Sadly for many of us, this collection will be released only in Thailand and Singapore, but let’s be honest, they’ll probably release it everywhere later. So, fingers crossed.

Disney Villains Collection (Colour Pop)
@colourpopcosmeticsColour Pop has given us some of the greatest and cheesiest geeky collections ever. After the huge success of their Princesses Collection, they’re back with what looks like the most epic of them all because, let’s be honest, the villains are way more interesting than the heroes. This amazing and colorful collection is inspired by six of Disney’s most epic villains: Hades (Hercules), the Evil Queen (Snow White), fab Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatian), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), and Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog).
The collection includes the “Misunderstood” eye shadow palette with 15 shades, six different jelly metallic shadows, six vibrant lipsticks, six metallic lip glosses and six highlighters, each inspired by each of these cool villains. Best part is they’re already available!

Disney Aladdin (MAC)
@maccosmeticsContinuing with the Disney craze (because, frankly, this is Disney’s year), MAC is launching a collection inspired by the upcoming Aladdin film, mainly Princess Jasmine. The Collection includes a pressed bronzer with a very cute engraved lamp, a bright pink lipstick with gold packaging and really gorgeous turquoise peacock details, and of course, a really beautiful eye shadow palette with nine neutral shades in metallic and mattes.
We’re living in the age of geekiness, and we’re loving it. I honestly can’t decide which one I love the most, or if I’m willing to sacrifice food and shelter to get them all. Which one is your favorite?
