Being a woman ain’t easy. Of course it’s a privilege and an honor, but it ain’t easy!
Living in this world is tough, and life has no qualm throwing environmental, social, political, and economic problems at our faces. Sometimes the lemonade you make when life throws you lemons is just too sour. Add to this mixture a dollop of sexism, two spoonfuls of PMS, and a pinch of social stereotypes, and we’re good to go.
Yes, men have it tough as well, but women have a few extra hurdles to overcome. It is not my intention to victimize women or state that men have it easy, it’s just that they can pee while standing; they don’t have cramps every single month, and they don’t have to go through the pain of bringing a child into the world.
It is the small things we want to poke fun at, and these great illustrators have accurately transferred all these issues onto paper. Satirical, witty, and funny is how I would describe their work, since they know all the ins and outs of what it means to be a woman.
