EFE – Jada Pinkett-Smith spoke out Tuesday for the first time after her husband, Will Smith, slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony and she did so with a message on Instagram: “It’s time to heal and I’m ready for it”.
With the message, is understood that she has settled the controversy over Smith’s assault on Rock last Sunday.
At the gala, Rock took the stage at the Dolby Theatre to present the Oscar for best documentary and made a joke about Pinkett-Smith’s shaved head, who has publicly acknowledged that she suffers from alopecia, comparing her to Lieutenant O’Neil in Ridley Scott’s film.
After Pinkett-Smith briefly closed her eyes in a gesture of annoyance, her husband rose from his seat and took the stage to slap Rock’s face.

“Keep my wife’s name out of your f*ing mouth,” Smith shouted at him to widespread bewilderment. That phrase was censored in the televised broadcast for the United States but was perfectly audible in other parts of the world.
The aggression overshadowed the reception of the first statuette in his career of the protagonist of “King Richard”, who in his speech when receiving the award for best actor tried to justify his behavior by describing himself as “protective” of his family and stating that “love leads to doing crazy things”.
So far, it is unknown the significance of the measures of this institution, which shuffles the suspension of the Academy -immediate or temporary- or even the withdrawal of the award he won on Sunday.
For his part, according to Variety, Rock has not wanted to report Smith to the Los Angeles Police Department for the slap and has chosen to remain silent after the altercation.
