Prince Charles tested positive for covid-19 for the second time

Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, tested positive for covid-19 for the second time “this morning” and is in isolation, his official Clarence House residence reported on Twitter on Thursday.

“His Royal Highness is deeply disappointed that he will not be able to attend the Winchester (South England) events today and he will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible,” the tweet reads.

This is the second time that the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, 73, has contracted the virus after being infected for the first time in 2020. He got both shots of the covid vaccine in 2021.

Prince Charles was met yesterday with numerous people and accompanied by his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at a reception held at the British Museum to commemorate the work of the British Asian Association (BAT, in English).

The news comes days after the monarch celebrated the Platinum Jubilee -her 70 years on the throne-, during which she expressed her “sincere wish” that the Duchess of Cornwall becomes Queen consort when Charles gets to the thone.

According to Rebecca English, royal editor of The Daily Mail, the Prince of Wales met recently with Queen Elizabeth, presumably on Tuesday. However, sources in Buckingham Palace say that she is in Windsor Castle and hasn’t displayed any symptoms. The situation will continue to be monitored.
