For the first time since the Ukraine-Russia conflict escalated last week, a royal member has taken a stand for the Ukrainian people. Prince Charles and Camilla visited one Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family in London to show their support.
The Dukes of Cornwall were accompanied by the Ukrainian Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko to meet with leaders of the Ukrainian community and volunteers helping the humanitarian effort.
“Our thoughts and prayers, however inadequate they may be, are with all of you at this most critical of times.”, said the Prince of Wales during their visit.
The Prince and the Duchess laid some sunflowers -Ukrainian national flowers- and lit a candle to show their support.
The rare message comes from the fact that the royal family is not allowed to get involved in any domestic or international affair. Showing up at a Ukrainian church to show their support speaks volumes on what Prince Charles and Camilla stand is.
Neither Queen Elizabeth, who is recovering from covid-19, nor Prince William have released any kind of statement.
