Born in the state of Chihuahua, this stunning 26-year-old just became the third Mexican beauty to win the Miss Universe pageant. Alma Andrea Meza Carmona studied Software Engineering at Chihuahua’s Autonomous University, but she is also known for her love of makeup, animals, and extreme sports.
Andrea is a human rights ambassador, who wants to promote women’s rights and gender equality: “I see myself as a human rights ambassador. This is very important to me, and I want young women to realize that, to fight for their rights.”
The 69th edition of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The now Miss Universe 2021 stood out from among 74 contestants thanks to her great charisma and confidence at every stage of the competition. She made it to the final 3 alongside Miss Brazil, Julia Gama, and Miss Peru, Janick Maceta.
After the 3-hour ceremony and taking home the crown, Meza posted the following message on her Twitter account: “We won. Go, Mexico! Thank you, my beautiful people, for your support.”
