With the coming back of Carrie Bradshaw and her best friends, Charlotte, Miranda for the “And Just Like that…” HBO series, we make a check-up of all the red flags Carrie missed from her relationship with Mr. Big. Even though, in this new show, it is clear the couple decided to give themselves another chance (with which many of us did not agree).

As a fan of “Sex & The City” I could give a thousand reasons why Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big should not have ended up together but I dare say that I also fell into the game of a Mr. Big. Hence, I’ll make a small list stating my point of view. Spoiler: I intend to be brief.

He did not consider her in his future

When Mr. Big went to Paris, Carrie hoped he will propose and was ready to leave everything and go with him. But no. He did not see her in her future and instead left her in New York with a broken heart. Also, when she tried to look for him, she never had an answer, Mr. Big was never clear.

He made her his lover

Carrie Bradshaw’s worst love disappointment was meeting a Mr. Big about to get married, he told her that he didn’t want anything serious … but with her. On the verge of reaching the altar and even married, the character played by Chris Noth, began the flirtations that ended in many nights of passion in any hotel with Carrie.

She did not deserve to be anyone’s second choice or become her lover. She was an independent, beautiful, hardworking, and fabulous woman but she ended up occupying a place that she did not deserve.

He knew her weak points

Mr. Big was so manipulative that he knew how to get to Carrie over and over again, even though she struggled to put him in the past. It was enough with a smile or a “kid” to bend her. And so it was all the seasons. I do not blame Carrie, men are so manipulative that they know all your weak points and how to play in her favor, when we “grab the measure” it is very difficult not to fall.

When he saw her happy, he wanted to be with her

I think this is one of the things I hate the most about Mr. Big. Carrie Bradshaw had a hard time getting over it, thousands of times she didn’t feel good enough for him and she was the only one who managed to break his heart.

When Carrie began to go out with more men who treated her as she deserved, he appeared again to put her world in her. She was always there for him, and he for her not

Mr. Big was that man who called Carrie Bradshaw at dawn to tell her that he felt bad about other loves, and she was always there to listen to him. Even when he confessed to her of her troubles in her heart, she was the first to be there for him. Instead, Mr. Big wasn’t always there for her when he needed him most. Suddenly, he appeared and disappeared.

He never knew what he wanted: he left her at the altar

Perhaps time made Mr. Big change but one of the most unforgivable acts of her was when he regretted marrying Carrie and left her at the altar, causing one of her worst crises. According to him, he did not want a giant wedding as she had dreamed it, although Carrie later forgave him and it all ended in a discreet civil wedding. Let’s face it, we all really hate Mr. Big for that reason.
