Dwayne Johnson, better known as ‘The Rock,’ could be about to close a new role as our favorite Christmas character: Santa Claus, so reported The Hollywood Reporter. The media has revealed that he could participate in a Christmas movie to be filmed in 2022 under the name – so far – Red One for Amazon Prime Video.
Dwayne will meet with the director of Jumanji to talk about this possibility that they plan to launch by the end of 2023; The Hollywood Reporter says that the role thought for ‘The Rock’ is that of Santa Claus. We must clarify that it is not yet confirmed.
A clue that could confirm Dwayne’s performance in this role is that the screenwriter of the film is Hiram Garcia, one of the producers and partners of ‘The Rock’ and responsible for the story of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, the first Fast & Furious spin-off that starred Dwayne and Jason Statham. It’s a good lead for the actor to accept the role.
This Christmas movie will be released on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform around 2023 to celebrate this special season in December.
It actually wouldn’t be too strange to see the actor in this type of films. We have enjoyed his sense of humor and fatherly side in other films such as Game Plan from 2007 where he filled us with tenderness with his role as Joe Kingman, a millionaire soccer player, careful with his appearance and reputation who comes to learn that he has a daughter and brings out his tender side. We also have other productions along the same lines such as Tooth Fairy and Central Intelligence.

Of course, the producer will go to great lengths to have ‘The Rock’ in his cast. Dwayne Johnson is one of the highest-grossing actors in Hollywood in recent years. He has several movies on his record that have left millionaire earnings as well as releases on streaming platforms as well.
