The ‘Euphoria’ on-set fight between Barbie Ferreira and Sam Levinson is fake

‘Euphoria’ is known for tackling hard topics, especially of how teenagers are currently dealing with their lives, their relationships, how the internet is affecting them and many topics.

The second season of ‘Euphoria’ came and went with a lot of controversies, like D.A.R.E saying that it glamorizes drug use, or that the series uses a lot of nudity for its female characters, especially with Sydney Sweeny’s character, Cassie.

Another of the big ones is how little Kat, played by Barbie Ferreira, is involved in the season’s story, and how she was relegated to a secondary role, instead of being a main character like in the first season.

The alleged fight between Ferreira and Levinson

According to Elle, Barbie Ferreira was disappointed with how the character of Kat was headed towards, and talked about it with Sam Levinson, the show’s writer, and director.

The vision for the second season’s story was darker than the first, like the show’s focus on how Rue’s addiction is damaging her family. Because of this, an anonymous source told Elle, a lot of the actors were not vibing with the director’s vision, especially Barbie Ferreira.

The discomfort turned into a fight, with Ferreira allegedly storming off set, and Levinson starting to cut lines and on-screen presence of her character.

It is also rumored that this is the reason Barbie Ferreira was absent from the Euphoria premiere, but it has remained unconfirmed.

“Sometimes, things take on a life of their own”

Ferreira was recently interviewed by Insider, where she talked about the rumors surrounding her and Levinson.

In this interview, she talked about how thing’s were blown out of proportion, and it was more like “mundane little things.” Her reasoning behind this is that a lot of people are really passionate about Euphoria, “sometimes, things take a life of their own, and they’re not rooted in the truth.”

While not actually going into details to explain what happened, she has said in an interview for February’s edition of The Cut that “Kat’s journey this season is a little more internal and a little mysterious to the audience.”

The actress and fans express that they want to see a lot more of Kat in the third season, and how the relationship of the character with herself, the internet and her friends will continue to change.
