The most awaited moment for all Friends fans has finally happened, as The Reunion was streamed yesterday. It took 17 years to see the entire gang together one more time, and fans were really there for them.
Even new generations have seen and enjoyed the iconic series through streaming services. Not only that, Friends was actually on the top 10 of most-watched series on these platforms proving that the stories of these six friends are still a legend.
Since yesterday, fans have poured their first impressions of the reunion on social media. Here are some emotional, funny, and surprising moments from Friends: The Reunion.
All together
The episode starts when David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller, arrives at the studios where the series was originally filmed. These were assembled back for the occasion, including the two main apartments and the famous Central Perk Café. He’s followed by the other cast members, one by one, giving us the first emotional moment of The Reunion.

“Everything looks smaller to me, the whole set,” noted Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani. “That’s impossible because none of the six of us have grown up since then,” replied Jennifer Aniston, Rachel in the series. Le Blanc jokingly replies, “Speak for yourself,” a reference to the fact that he is a little older than before.
Now that they’re all reunited, it’s time to share memories. LeBlanc reveals that Courteney Cox, Monica Geller on the show, would write her lines at the kitchen table next to the bowl of fruit so she wouldn’t forget her lines.
Memories
The cast immediately started talking about specific episodes, and to our surprise, some of them didn’t remember the deets. Even a few days ago, Matthew Perry, who brought Chandler Bing to life, pointed out that he didn’t remember at least three years of his work in the series. Also when they commented on the episode, “The One with the Ball” from season five, (in which everyone is throwing a ball for hours), Schwimmer admitted he did “not remember it at all”, and seems genuinely lost.

“There are seasons I never watched,” admitted Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay. Perry admitted he hadn’t rewatched the series either, while Schwimmer remarked: “I hadn’t seen it in 17 years until my daughter started watching it last year, and that sucked me back in.” But the other actors agreed that they had watched the whole thing over the years, especially LeBlanc and Cox.
Deleted scenes
As expected, we enjoyed some bloopers scenes, and boy did we laugh watching them! Friends: The Reunion also shared some scenes that had never been seen by the public.

There’s a shot, which features an off-color joke, that wasn’t in the script where Monica and Chandler sleep together for the first time in London. And there’s another scene in which Perry does a very unique dance when he can’t remember one of his lines, and behind him are LeBlanc and Schwimmer doing the same dance when they try to repeat the shot!
Matthew Perry’s health
The actor’s absence and odd behavior were noticed since the promo spots were released. Fans, who are always looking after the six favorite actors, showed concern, especially about Perry’s appearance. His way of speaking and interacting with the rest of the cast seemed off to fans who rapidly associated his behavior with Perry’s struggle with addictions and his recovery over the years.

By the end of the episode, the actor shared how he felt when filming the series with the live audience: “I felt like I was going to die if they didn’t laugh. And that’s not healthy. Sometimes I would say a line and they wouldn’t laugh and I would start sweating and convulsing. If I didn’t get the laugh I was supposed to get, I would go crazy. And I felt it every night.”
He then recalled interrupting the filming of a scene in which LeBlanc accidentally tripped over the carpet, causing laughter among the audience. “I thought, somebody’s causing laughter and it’s not me. I couldn’t handle it. I needed to cause that effect too.”
Trivia
David Schwimmer brought out the emblematic quiz we enjoyed in season four, where Joey and Chandler competed against Monica and Rachel to see who knows each other better. With a new set of questions, Schwimmer asked the cast members to identify a character from an audio clip taken from an episode. “That’s my monkey,” said the mysterious voice.

“Mr. Hinkle?” ventures Kudrow. “No, what’s his name?” “It’s the guy who lives downstairs,” Aniston says, trying to place him. “Mr. Wriggles?” Surely fans at heart already know who it is, the correct answer is the ever-grumpy Heckles. Fortunately, all six actors did better in some of the other rounds.
Amazing guests
We already knew beforehand the names of the guest celebrities that were going to be part of The Reunion. They were invited to take part in the show and talk about the series and what great lessons they learned from it. Among the most famous guests were the renowned singer Lady Gaga, the highly popular Korean band BTS, and even activists like the great Malala Yousafzai, who curiously is one of the biggest Friends fans.

Will there be a movie?
After 10 years of being the top comedy series in the United States, the audience has grown an immense love for actors and people involved, because thanks to their good work rhythm and knowing how to keep the characters and the story alive, their stories became instant classics of television history.

For years, many fans have been desperate for a scripted reunion, with the stars reprising their roles in a new series or movie. But it’s not hard to guess how the cast reacted when James Corden asked them if they’d considered it.
“No. I’m sorry, I haven’t,” Kudrow noted. “I once heard Kauffman and Crane say, and I completely agree, that they ended the show really well, that everybody’s life is really nice and they would have to unravel all that good stuff for there to be stories. And I don’t want anyone’s happy ending to get tangled up.” “Besides, at our age? Enough is enough. You have to grow up.”
Sorry, pals, it’s been made clear this is as much as we’ll get regarding a reunion of our favorite gang. But let’s be honest, we really don’t need more! Friends: The Reunion was really special and gave us the laughter and emotions we were craving for the past 17 years.
