The long-awaited Friends reunion is right around the corner and fans are expectant to see their favorite gang hanging out back together. If the excitement wasn’t huge by now, the craze is all over the place after HBO Max shared some new images of the event that will be streamed on May 27. Also, the six members of the cast got together for some emotional photographs for People Magazine, including an adorable and already legendary cover.
In the past weeks, we’ve learned some deets about the Friends; The Reunion originally called Friends: The One Where They Got Back Together. And though it seems it will be the event of the year (…for fans at least…) there were some disappointments including the fact that the great Paul Rudd, aka Mike Hannigan, won’t be part of the reunion.
After the list of guest stars that will be accompanying the original cast was released, social media went nuts wondering why Rudd wasn’t part of this, taking into account that he became an important character by the end of the series. Not only that, the guest list includes Tom Selleck, who played Monica’s boyfriend Richard, so why isn’t Phoebe’s actual husband the first on the list?!
Well, fans weren’t only outraged about the absence of Paul Rudd on the list but wondered why aren’t Christina Applegate (Rachel’s sister), Cole and Dylan Sprouse (Ross’ son Ben), and so many actors whose characters were kind of important for the protagonists. We’ll probably never know. But what we know is that this VIP list includes not only cast members from the series like Janice (Maggie Wheeler) and Gunther (James Michael Tyler) but also celebrities like David Beckham, Lady Gaga, and Malala Yousafzai (what!).
On the good side, after a kind-of-disappointing trailer was released a couple of days ago, earlier today, HBO Max finally gave us what we were craving for, a real trailer that has only left us wanting to have a leap on time and see the whole thing right now!
It turns out we’ll get to see Rachel, Joey, Chandler, Monica, Ross, and Phoebe (well, the actors) hanging out on the iconic sets like Central Perk, the emblematic apartments, and of course, that legendary fountain. Not only that, it seems they’ll be recreating some of the iconic moments including the hilarious trivia game!
It looks like finally, on May 27, we’ll be able to say that it has been our day, our week, our month, and even our year! Here’s the trailer of Friends: The Reunion!
