It’s no secret that Kanye West has become that awkward uncle who likes to meddle in everybody’s business and make it quite public. This time, it was Billie Eilish’s turn though the only thing she did was stop her show to get a fan an inhaler. For Ye, this was unacceptable, since he believes Eilish was only shaming Travis Scott for the Astroworld tragedy last November.
Let’s go step by step. Travis Scott has been blamed for not stopping his show when the crowds started to crush over the stage. The tragedy took the lives of 10 people, including some minors. Although Scott has claimed he didn’t realize this was happening, he’s been blamed for encouraging audiences into havoc. Ever since people have been showing examples of other performers stopping the show to help their fans or even asking them to calm down to avoid accidents.
Now, what’s the deal with Billie Eilish? As mentioned, a couple of days ago, Eilish was praised for helping her fan get an inhaler. She said: “guys, give it some time. Don’t crowd… We’re taking care of our people, hold on. I wait for people to be ok until I keep going.” Kanye saw this as a bad intentioned indirect to Travis Scott (who not so long ago could call a brother in law), and today decided to diss on Billie demanding an apology to the young rapper. Not only that, he suggested he won’t be playing at Coachella next spring unless Elish apologizes to Scott.
Eilish, on her part, limited herself to only responding to Kanye’s post on Instagram that she “Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan.”
Both Billie Eilish and Kanye West were chosen as headliners of the Coachella Festival after Travis Scott was removed after the Astroworld tragedy.
