24-year-old Megan herself is the ultimate “hot girl,” inspiring all her “hotties” to be the hottest version of themselves this summer and always, with seriously sexy outfits that she wears on and off the stage, daily Instagram stories chronicling her wild parties, and captions that encourage all of us not to be afraid to “drive the boat” of our lives.
Looking at her posts on social media and listening to the songs from her new album Fever, some people might make the mistake of thinking Megan is just another sexy rapper making money off of her raunchy lyrics and even raunchier outfits, but a closer look at these elements of her persona reveal a deeper, unequivocally feminist message that resonates with Millennial and Gen Z youth all around the world.
The reason is that Megan is saying that being a hottie and having a hot girl summer is all about being you and doing whatever makes you happy. She is a hottie because she is doing what she loves: making music, selling out shows, and firmly “securing the bag.” But we can all be hotties like her, even if we like completely different things.
For instance, if all you want to do this summer is stay home and watch TV in your underwear, you go do that and be hottie. Do you want to go backpacking by yourself and have new adventures every day? That’s some real hot girl shit. Or, for instance, is your plan this summer to work three jobs and save up for something? Get it, hottie. You don’t even need to be a girl, to be a hot girl. If you feel like a hot girl, you’re probably a hot girl.
In Megan Thee Stallion’s world, the essence of hotness is loving yourself, being confident, making your own decisions, and not being afraid to show the world who you are, whoever that is. It means standing up for yourself and defending your right to seek your own happiness and satisfaction in a world that still, to this day, won’t let people be free and do their thing.
For that reason, Hot Girl Meg has been killing it this summer and gaining thousands of fans across the world every day who see in her a role model for being themselves.
