It’s impressive to see how, as time goes by, more and more accusations against pop singer Michael Jackson continue to pile up, even though he’s been dead for years. Documentaries, testimonies, and books have explored the alleged sexual abuses committed by the King of Pop. So, it would seem that there’s more to the story about these dark episodes in the singer’s life. There are still more details to reveal about everything that happened at Neverland and the strange relationship he had with all those kids he befriended.
One of the last testimonies that have come out is that of a woman who met the singer when she was twelve years old. Though she’s chosen to keep her identity anonymous, she’s willing to take her case to court. The story, which has been confirmed by Michael Jackson’s doctor (charged with involuntary manslaughter and released after less than two years in prison), claims that Michael fell in love with the young British actress the moment he saw her, hence the many letters and invitations she received. Unlike some of the previous cases that don’t have full evidence, in this case, the letters have been published, and they are really disturbing.
According to Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, besides this young girl, Michael also liked one of his close friend’s daughters, also a British girl. Murray claimed Michael had been infatuated since the girl was five years old. However, that’s the only information available regarding that specific case.
“I really like talking to you, and you are so sweet. But you cannot play Monopoly. But I love you and miss you very much. All my love, Michael.”
“Hello. Your Valentine picture was so original and sweet. I love you sooo much also you’re making me love you even more the more I talk to you. I’m crazy about you. All my love Michael.”
Only experts can give more insight on these letters that Michael allegedly sent to this girl. However, just from reading these, we can say this isn’t a normal behavior between an adult and a young girl. If we take a look back at the polemical HBO documentary Leaving Neverland, these letters seemed like one of his methods to court kids and keep them in his life. They helped him create a fantasy-like relationship that ended up becoming a horrible nightmare.
“Please come to se me. Your mother and dad are nice. Bye. I love you soooooo much. MJ.”
There’s a theory that claims Jackson developed a mental condition after a failed and invasive treatment against acne that ended up pushing back his hormonal and psychological development. However, this would be just another attempt to justify the alleged abuses he inflicted on children.
We’ll probably never be sure what was going on in his mind or what drove him to behave the way he did. At the end of the day, he was a public figure whose image was really important for him, and what happened away from the spotlight is something we might never know for sure. All we’ll ever have are theories, deductions, and testimonies.
