10 years and several break ups later, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have finally tied the knot. Fans of both the singer and the actor have been waiting for this news for almost a decade, and now both have confirmed they got married with photos on their social media profiles.
Miley and Liam first met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and began dating shortly after. They confirmed their relationship status at an Oscars event in 2010 and that same year we saw them breaking up and getting back together at least three times.

They were together for a couple of years and in 2012 Miley was seen wearing what looked like an engagement ring. Later she would confirm that they were engaged and she made several appearances where she talked about her dream wedding. They seemed pretty happy and were spotted vacationing and spending time together until a celebrity gossip website accused her of cheating on Liam with Ed Westwick. She denied the accusation but shortly after the ring was off her finger.
Months later, Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, quipped in an interview: “They’re young, they’re kids. The great news is they’re great friends. And if you end up getting married, that’s your business too, you know?” In August 2013 they were last seen together before Miley’s publicist announced the wedding was off.

For the next couple of years they dated other people while still being “friends”. Then, in 2016, they were seen together in public again, sparkling rumors about a possible reconciliation. Cyrus confirmed they were engaged again in the Ellen DeGeneres show in October. Though their relationship seemed pretty strong, she said she was not ready to get married just yet.
Their story took a bitter turn in November 2018 when the Malibu Fires destroyed their house. Hemsworth later on Instagrammed a photo of the remains of their home with the word LOVE spelled in burnt letters.
On Christmas Eve, pictures of them celebrating with family and friends showed her wearing a wedding dress. A couple days later, she confirmed on her Instagram account that they got married on December 23! She even posted a video of her dancing Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” in her gorgeous Vera Wang wedding gown, apparently shot by her new hubby.
Mark Ronson, close friend’s with the couple, shared this video on Twitter to congratulate the happy couple and wish them a “Happily Ever After”. Mark and Miley are so close that they have just released “Nothings Breaks Like A Heart”, along with a new version of John Lennon’s classic “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” featuring Sean Ono Lennon.
It seems that this love story was meant to be and that both started off on the right foot. Their intimate celebration will definitely go to the book of the best celebrity weddings in 2018. Here’s to the bride and the groom!
