A shooting at a primary school in Finland was reported, where a 12-year-old boy fired at his classmates, leaving two injured and a third who died before he could be taken to a hospital.
According to a statement from the Finnish police, the shooting occurred at a primary school in the city of Vantaa, in southern Finland. Of the three victims, one died, and the other two are hospitalized in serious condition. All of them are 12 years old and were classmates of the shooter.
The shooting took place shortly after 9:00 am (local time) at Viertola school, a few kilometers from Helsinki-Vantaa airport. This school serves about 800 students aged seven to sixteen and employs 90 staff members.
The shooter was arrested
After the attack, the police indicated that the shooter surrendered without resistance and was found in possession of the weapon used to shoot his classmates. He confessed to firing the shots and was subsequently detained.

A police spokesperson explained at a press conference that the gun used in the crime belonged to a close relative of the shooter and had the appropriate license. Investigators have found no evidence that the detainee had planned the attack, although they have not yet determined the motive.
Several police cars and ambulances arrived at the scene to respond to the emergency, where they apprehended the minor and provided assistance to the injured. Unfortunately, one of them died at the scene, while the other two, as mentioned earlier, remain in serious condition in the hospital.
