Como todos sabemos (y si no lo sabes, deberías), Gerard Way es, además del vocalista de My Chemical Romance, el creador de la exitosa novela gráfica ‘The Umbrella Academy, una historia épica de niños superdotados que se convierten en superheroes y luchan contra algunos de los monumentos más representativos del mundo. Desde el año pasado, la serie se convirtió en una sensación internacional gracias a Netflix.
Pues bien, esta mañana nos levantamos con el esperado primer vistazo a la segunda temporada, donde por fin podremos saber qué pasó con nuestros personajes que enfrentaban una visión apocalíptica la última vez que los vimos. Sin embargo, además de la emocionante historia, otra cosa destaca del metraje: por fin escuchamos nueva música de Gerard Way.

Se trata de la canción ‘Here Comes the End’ y puedes disfrutarla por ahora en exclusiva en el trailer. En una declaración de Way cortesía de Netflix, el cantante reveló que «Originalmente me inspiré a escribir este tema cuando la temporada 1 de The Umbrella Academy estaba siendo filmada; para el momento en que la terminé ya estábamos en pleno 2020, el mundo ya había dado un giro bastante profundo y la canción fue terminada en una nueva realidad surrealista».
Es cierto, basta escuchar un poco de ‘Here Comes the End’ para darnos cuenta que Gerard Way tuvo destellos de clarividencia en una canción que además de hablar de la misma serie, tiene un reflejo bastante definido de todos los sucesos que hasta ese momento estaban por ocurrir y que hoy se han convertido en lo que llamamos la ‘nueva normalidad’. Escalofriante… La temporada 2 verá la luz a final de mes y ya puedes escuchar la canción completa a continuación.
