For centuries the discussion of female pleasure has not belonged to women. It has constantly been denied to them by rules that were ironically established by men.
Many women are unaware of their own sexuality because they are trapped in a phallocentric society that only centers around the act of penetration, a notion that has prevailed throughout time and transcended across different cultures.
Religion, chauvinism, and the lack of time interfere with the chances to explore variations in our pleasure. Sex is trapped and silenced in the bedroom, and the act is driven by shyness and immediacy. It doesn’t mean that it is wrong, but it limits the options.
OMGYes is a sex education initiative designed to guide men and women in the art of finding and stimulating erogenous zones like the clitoris (an organ “hidden” near the front junction of the inner lips, and above the opening of the urethra).
It is based on research led by the University of Indiana. Thousands of women participated to amass enough information to determine what it is that leads to female orgasms. Different masturbation techniques that vary in rhythm, intensity, depth, and repetition were investigated in order to help women reach multiple waves of pleasure.
A website was created to transform the research from paper to videos. The testimonies and techniques are explained by the participants of the project. It also has a graphic interface of a vagina to practice the lessons, before actually applying them with your partner.
OMGYes claims to be a new form of women empowerment, as it places them in charge of their own pleasure. Yes, you have to pay to be able to watch the 50 interviews, 11 interactive videos, and 12 lessons; but it is a small price that will result in MULTIPLE rewards.
It is time to end social taboos and open the discussion on the female orgasm, because women are entitled to enjoy sex too.
