Besides the deceased, there is one more person wounded. It was reported that the actor did not know that the weapon was loaded.

Actor Alec Baldwin accidentally took the life of the director of photography of the movie he was working on after firing a gun that was supposedly a prop replica. According to reports, the actor did not know it was loaded.

The accident, which also left the film's director, Joel Souza, injured, occurred in the vicinity of Santa Fe, in the state of New Mexico, in the United States, and the Sheriff's Office has already initiated an investigation to clarify what happened and what type of projectile was in the gun.

The Sheriff's Office and the cinematographers' union, the International Cinematographers Guild, have identified the deceased woman as Halyna Hutchins, 42.

According to initial reports, a helicopter airlifted Hutchins to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Souza, meanwhile, was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Hospital, where he is receiving emergency medical care due to the severity of his injury.

Juan Rios, a spokesman for the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office, is investigating the circumstances of what happened, as they do not know if they were in the middle of a rehearsed scene or already in the middle of filming. In addition, they indicated that the Sheriff's Office and its leaders are interviewing the people who were on the set to find out how the two people were shot.

So far no charges have been filed against Alec Baldwin or anyone else on the set of "Rust", the movie the actor was filming, who was seen crying outside the local police station, where he was to give his statement to find out how this fatal accident occurred.
