Royal biographer Tom Bower claims Camilla Parker and Meghan Markle had never had a good relationship and that the future Queen has always been suspicious about her.
Royal beef: Camilla Parker has always been ‘suspicious’ of Meghan Markle’s intentions
The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker, has had some busy last couple of weeks when it comes to appearing on the tabloids. Right before her Platinum Jubilee, Queen Elizabeth confirmed that, when the time comes, and Prince Charles becomes King, she will be addressed as Queen Camilla. Yesterday, Clarence House confirmed, the duchess tested positive for Covid-19, days after her husband did (and after attending a public event). And today, she’s made it to the tabloids as well, as the center of a new royal beef between the Sussexes and the Cornwalls.
Royal biographer Tom Bower, assured Camilla and Meghan never got to establish a good relationship between them. It seems that none o the Sussexes have ever done so, according to an upcoming autobiography by Prince Harry. But it all goes far beyond not liking Charles’ wife, it’s all both-sided. According to Bower, Camilla was always suspicious of Meghan Markle’s intentions with Harry and has even referred to her as ‘that minx.”
Bower goes further on claiming that Camilla found it hard to believe that Meghan, who saw herself as an independent woman, would ever sacrifice all her life and career to the service of the monarchy as other royal wives had. And she’s not wrong about that, but not willing to give up everything doesn’t mean she had dubious intentions as Camilla apparently suggested. But this isn’t it.
The biographer added that during all the issues with the Sussexes, and the ‘constant public humiliation caused by Harry to his father, Camilla kept supporting Charles. Among their conversations, Bower says, Camilla said that Meghan was a “self-seeking trouble-maker whose antics will always end in tears.” I mean, if it’s all true, Camilla truly can’t stand Meghan!
So, with that beef in mind, it’s been deduced that the fact that neither Meghan nor Harry said anything after the announcement of Queen Elizabeth declaring that Camilla will be Queen Consort, is Meghan’s way of declaring war against her step-mother-in-law (is that a thing?). This is just too far-fetched wanting to add more controversy to the issue. At the end of the day, Meghan and Harry are living a more or less private life, not commenting on anything.
This all might be true, likely they don’t like each other as it happens in every family. But it’s also true that the fact that these statements are coming just now it’s no coincidence. This Tom Bower is working on a biography on Meghan Markle, and although royal bios sell good, making a big fuzz before releasing it will definitely guarantee more sales. So, yes, he’s basically playing a quite misogynistic and outdated game of creating a public feud between two women for profit.Podría interesarte
