Halsey Welcomes First Baby In The Most ‘Rare And Euphoric Birth’

Singer Halsey has finally welcomed her first baby, Ender Ridley Aydin in what she described as the most 'rare and euphoric birth'.

This past Wednesday, July 14, singer Halsey and boyfriend Alev Aydin welcomed their first baby named Ender Ridley Aydin. Halsey waited until today to share the exciting news with an adorable photo of the family together at the hospital.

“Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love.”

Halsey revealed her pregnancy earlier in January and has shared some of the journey with her followers on social media. Halsey has been quite open about pregnancy for the past years; in 2015, she became pregnant but suffered a miscarriage just before her career was launched. The miscarriage happened moments before a performance, and according to Halsey, it was the angriest performance she ever did in her entire life.

The terrible loss made her question her life goals, and although she always dreamed about becoming a successful musician, the desire to become a mother was even bigger. According to her, she realized she wanted “to be a mom more than I wanted to be a pop star, more than I want to be anything in the world.”

For Halsey, the journey has been long and emotionally, and physically challenging. She’s dealt with several surgeries to battle endometriosis. She even shared in 2019 that she was considering freezing their eggs, fearing that endometriosis would tarnish her possibilities to conceive.

When she finally managed to get pregnant, she shared the news by saying that her “pregnancy was 100% planned, and I tried very hard for this bb.” She finally got her precious gift, ‘powered by love,’ as she puts it.

These months have been filled with introspection for the singer, who in February, added to her social media bios the pronouns “she/they.” As she explained, being pregnant made her think and question her gender perceptions: “I thought pregnancy would give me very strong binary feelings about ‘womanhood,’ but truly it has leveled my perception of gender entirely.”
