The language of love is universal and one that is understood through our kindness, compassion, and selflessness towards our fellow human beings. When it comes to spoken words of love, learning how to say “I love you” in different languages is just another beautiful way that we can connect with people from different cultures and spread more love out into this world.
In the spirit of bringing our human family closer together by what unites us — that we are all born to love and be loved —, we thought it would be a good idea to compile a list of 100 different ways of saying “I love you” in 100 different languages from all four corners of the world; we bet there are some you didn't even know existed!
Whether you’re looking to impress a foreign love interest with your sweet nothings, traveling to a new country and looking for an ice-breaker other than “Hello,” or simply interested in learning new languages, you are in the right place!

1. "I love you" in Afrikaans
Ek is lief vir jou.
Afrikaans is spoken in South Africa, which has multi-ethnic society that is extremely diverse when it comes to languages. Apart from English, Afrikaans is another one of the 11 official languages that are spoken in our country (they don’t call South Africa the ‘Rainbow Nation’ for nothing). The 11 South African languages include:

- Swati (SiSwati)
2. “I love you” in Akan
Me dor wo.
Akan is spoken in Ghana and the Ivory Coast.
3. “I love you” in Amharic
እወድሃለሁ - Iwedihalehu
Amharic is spoken in Ethiopia/Egypt/Eritrea. Unlike English (where “I love you” is gender neutral), saying “I love you” in Amharic to a woman is pronounced Ewdeshalehu.
4. “I love you” in Arabic
أحبك - Ana uhibuk
Arabic is spoken in Egypt/Algeria/Iraq and many other countries around the world. The written script for “I love you” in Arabic stays the same for both genders, but the pronunciation is a little different. If you’re looking to impress a lucky lady then saying Ana uhibuky is likely to strike a chord in her heart.

Armenian is spoken in Armenia.
6. “I love you” in Azerbaijani
Mən səni sevirəm
Azerbaijani is spoken in Azerbaijan/Iran.

Hebrew is spoken in Israel. Looking to confess your love in Hebrew? There are a few ways to express this according to your gender role and who you’re speaking to. If you’re a woman and you want to say “I love you” in Hebrew to a man you should say Ani Ohevet Otcha. For a woman to another woman it’s Ani Ohevet Otach. For a man to another man it’s Ani Ohev Otcha.
