Trying new things can be overwhelming for some, but it can be a refreshing experience to get out of your comfort zone. You may discover you love it or not. Break out of the same old dinner and movies and impress that special someone with something new.
Whether it's a first date, or you and your S.O. finally carved out time from your busy schedules and booked that great babysitter, the same old restaurant and movie date seems so boring, and it gets even worse when the weather is not cooperating. Here are some original ideas to wow your date.
Take them back to the wonder years. Take your date to an arcade. Sitting in that zombie arcade, both desperately trying to help each other survive the zombie apocalypse brings a sense of responsibility to keep each other alive. Just make sure to have enough tokens at hand because that's the most intense part, reviving to save your partner's life. Plus, if there were ever a real zombie apocalypse, you would have just gone target shooting and increased your chances of survival.
2. Indoor Rock Climbing
Whether you're a pro or a newbie, most rock climbing places cater to all levels. It'll be a sure thing to get that adrenaline pumping. Plus, by rock climbing you will be flexing all those muscles and leave much to the imagination. Doesn't that sound much better than sitting on the couch, again, watching Tom Cruise have all the fun?
3. Create something
Take them to a pottery, painting, or cooking class. Imagine making them a vase where they'll put all the flowers that you will be giving them on their birthday and anniversaries. They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend and that they last forever, but a piece of pottery or a painting can too. Plus, it's just so much more romantic when it has been handmade with love and uniquely for her or him. Who doesn't love a personalized gift? So add their initials or maybe both of you guys' initials. The bottom line is, get dirty and hands on!
What's not sexy about an altruistic deed? You could go read books at a nursing home or children's hospital, go tree planting, or serve food at a soup kitchen. Not only will you come out feeling grateful for everything you have, but this is also a good way to bring out the light in both of you. You will see another side of each other that you might not have known. It might even help you realize if this is a person that you want to continue having a relationship with or not.
5. Spa night
I would not necessarily recommend this for a first, second, or third date because it might be a bit awkward trying to have a conversation with both of your faces buried in the massage table and moaning when the masseuse hits those tight nerves. But, it's definitely a must if your S.O. has been having a rough week and needs some kneading. It's ok to have silent time together, knowing you're both getting some of that stress massaged out of you. You will both come out of there relaxed and glowing. And they will most certainly thank you.
Don't let the rain ruin your outdoor plans, take advantage of it and try something new. With a brand new year on the horizon, it's time to start thinking outside the box and try new things. Although the movie and dinner is a safe bet, it's refreshing to go on a different type of date. Surprise your date with one these ideas and discover new ways of having fun while spending time with that special someone.
