After the controversy around this year’s Oscars host, everybody was wondering how the night would turn out and if the atmosphere of the event would be as fun as in previous editions. Well, the Academy just proved that you don’t need a host to make a big opening ceremony when you can have Queen performing their biggest hits with Adam Lambert as a frontman, while Freddie Mercury is screened at the back.
Everything is changing and maybe it’s for the best. The Academy decided to change the organization of the show by starting with the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (it used to begin with Best Supporting Actor) presented by the always hilarious and all all-time favorites Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and Maya Rudolph.
The big surprise was Green Book winning for Best Picture, but without further ado, here’s how this year’s Academy Awards made history with these unique winners.
