Mrs. Maisel didn't only win as Outstanding Comedy Series, it also took home Lead and Supporting Actress, Writing, and Directing. Take a look at the other winners.

For decades, television has been seen as mere entertainment. Unlike cinema, which has always been seen through an artistic filter, for years, television was seen and created for the simple purpose of entertaining an audience. However, though there are shows that have acquired certain artistic status over time, there’s no way to deny that in the past decade we’ve been witnesses of a real golden age of television with series and shows that have incredible artistic value not only in terms of narrative, but also in terms of visuals. In the last few years, several television projects have been acclaimed and awarded in the Emmys, which select the best entertainment and artistic proposals, and this year wasn’t the exception.

This year’s ceremony was probably the most diverse in the history of the Emmy Awards. Not only were actors from different backgrounds nominated and awarded, but it was also the year that pointed at different ways of creating series away from the mainstream television channels. These days, it’s the reign of streaming companies, showing us the diversity we’ve been wanting to see for decades, and this will probably be a trend in the upcoming years.
