The final “Lion King” trailer has just been released, and we can finally see how all the characters look like. Do they live up to their original counterparts?
Disney has become one of the strongest entertaining companies in the world, and, not happy with having almost a total hold on the industry, it’s planned what’s perhaps their biggest year in the history of the company. As you know, some of the most anticipated films are being released in 2019, including some remakes of our favorite childhood films.
With Dumbo, Aladdin, and The Lion King, Disney is definitely aiming not only at a large children’s audience, but also a higher number of millennials who keep these stories and their characters close to their hearts. As we all know, nobody cares about how the younger generations feel about the movie: it’s all about meeting our super high expectations. So, with that in mind, the real question here is, will it live up to the original?
Before today, we had already seen a really touching recreation of the “Circle of Life” opening with the amazing James Earl Jones narrating and some sneak peeks of the characters. However, this final trailer has finally shown us how all our favorite characters will look on the live-action (no, I won’t enter this absurd discussion) film.

Although the new Scar does look quite different from the original, most of the characters look really impressive, while still keeping their characteristic features. The trailer also shows us some recreations from the original movie, which, to be honest, I kind of wish they keep doing them for the rest of the film (seriously, don’t be extra creative and add random stuff to make it “cool” for new generations).
All in all, I do think the cast is impressive. I think what gives the film the gold stamp is having people like Beyoncé, Donald Glover, and James Earl Jones. I mean, do you think Queen Bey would agree to do something that’s not up to her level? So, without further ado, here’s the new crew in the savannah.
Simba (Donald Glover)
Mufasa (James Earl Jones)
Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor)
