10 Movies And Series You Can Watch On Netflix If Avengers Left You Superhero Obsessed
Whether you liked or hated the latest movie ending, you still got a year left before finding out what happened to the Avengers...
I screamed, I cried, and I clapped at the end of Avengers: Infinity War
(2018). And regardless of what other people thought about the ending –you know they had to keep you intrigued somehow–, the film does puts all my favorite heroes together in a two hour and 40 minute film with tons of action, comedy, and tragedy. Now that we know we have to wait at least a year before the next sequel to come out, it would be a great opportunity for you to catch up on all those other Marvel films and series you missed out, and by the way, some of these can help you solve a few questions you had on Infinity Wars. The best part of this is that most of these shows are on Netflix! – but shhhhhh … it’ll be our little secret. Here are the films and series you can stream now on Netflix to keep up with your obsession with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes:
Guardians of The Galaxy
I put this film first because it goes along with Infinity Wars' story line and if you didn’t watch it, then you missed out on useful information essential to understand the latest Avengers' film. In the movie, not only do we come to see how the coolest space gang gets formed, but we also get to meet Thanos and his family. In addition to that, we are also introduce to the first Infinity Stone, the Power Stone or purple stone, and its incredible powers.
Captain America And The Winter Soldier
This film is the sequel of Captain America: The First Avenger
(2011) and the first Avengers movie. In here, we follow the life of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, after he has woken up from his last fight in WWII. The movie is very relevant and key to understanding many other Avengers movies since we are introduced to Falcon and Bucky Barnes: the Winter Soldier.
(2011) and Thor: The Dark Lord
These two films are not necessarily connected with the Avengers Saga directly, rather they help you understand the God of Thunder’s personality since we are transported to his homeland: Asgard. We also get to know the complex story behind him and his brother Loki and how they ended up on planet Earth. In addition, watching these two films will help you understand the last Thor film, Thor: Ragnarok
(2017), which is tied to the beginning of Infinity Wars.
Of course you need to watch the first Avengers film if you are obsessed with the latest one, even if you've already watched it. It walks us through on how the Avengers came to join forces to defeat Loki's evil plan to conquer the world, the Shield organization that put them together, and the first time Thanos put his eyes on planet Earth and the Infinity Stones.
"Agents of Shield"
Speaking of how the Avengers came to be formed, this series takes viewer inside the world of the secret organization that put them all together: Shield. Although the series focuses more on other superheroes and the missions behind the secret organization, it does a nice job explaining how Shield is structured and the other agents that work alongside the Avengers.
(2008), Iron Man 2
(2010), and Iron Man 3
These films don’t necessarily talk much about the Avengers, but we get to see a member of the team show up from time to time. The movie follows the life of Tony Stark, the genius magnate behind the Iron Man suit, and how he gave his life an 180 degree turn by going from rich kid to superhero. It also talks a lot about his personal life and the reasons why he wants to protect the world.
"Marvel’s The Defenders"
Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage are the underground heroes that make up this badass team of superheroes who unlike the Avengers, prefer to fight criminal organizations and ninja mafias far away from the public's eye. Each superhero has its very own series, you can stream those on Netflix
too, and this series is just a sequel of all those other four series.
These series and movies hold interesting and important details about the Marvel
Cinematic Universe that could come in handy when watching the next Avengers film. It's important to keep an eye out for the newest additions to Netflix,
since there are other films and series, like Dr Strange
(2016) and Avengers: Age of Ultron
that are yet to be made available.
