What’s it like to manage the biggest boy band in the world? The BTS Army need not wonder anymore now that BTS World has arrived. This is a video game, announced a month ago, that will allow fans to decide the fate of the Korean pop boy band, BTS, by letting users be their manager.
“The future of BTS is in your hands,” is the game’s premise, although everything is set up to follow the history of BTS somewhat closely, from their beginnings in 2012 to now. Perhaps that is why the biggest hype around BTS World are not the managerial features, but rather the parts that allow users to dress up the band members. This will give the Army a chance to style all the seven members of the Bangtan Boys. From their hair color, to their clothing, to their backgrounds.

“You’ll see with all the interactions that you get a glimpse of [the BTS members’] actual personalities. While some of the stories may be fictional to some degree, they are based on their personalities, the things that they’ve said, and what is true to how they speak and how they feel about things,” a Netmarble representative told Billboard about the game’s qualities.
But the game isn’t only a game. It’s also a platform in which BTS will release more than 10,000 exclusive photos and scenes that allow fans to get a glimpse of what really goes on behind the scenes, except each player will have to unlock this material as they go along the game completing each of the narratives BTS World has to offer.

Along with the game, it’s a new BTS album, a soundtrack to the game, if you will. This soundtrack will be pre-released for 48 hours on the app before it is officially and globally released on June 28. Luckily for us, three songs have already been uploaded to Spotify. What are you most excited for?
