Stephen King Takes A Break From Horror To Make The Ultimate Road Trip Playlist

Stephen King Takes A Break From Horror To Make The Ultimate Road Trip Playlist

The master of horror, Stephen King, has just tweeted his go-to road trip playlist and it’s really amazing.

Picture this: a long, long road with nothing else to see but the landscapes surrounding you. Tank is full, you’ve got some snacks, and the only thing missing to make it a perfect experience is a great soundtrack. Now, what if no other than Stephen King was in charge of the music? What would he play? Would it be the soundtrack of one of his horror stories?

Not really. Actually, the playlist is somehow the opposite of what you’d imagine. Following the trend in which important personalities post their go-to playlists, early (very early) this morning, Stephen King tweeted a handwritten list of his favorite songs to hear during a road trip…. down memory lane apparently!

Jokes aside, the playlist is actually quite good, with a lot of soul, some disco, and really great beats to hit that road!

13. “I Will Survive” - Gloria Gaynor

We could all use an “I Will Survive” moment  on a daily basis even if we’re not hitting the road. But, I give it to Mr. King that it's a great tune to get the party started.

14. “Be My Baby” - The Ronettes

15. “Shout” - The Isley Bros

16. “One of the Living” - Tina Turner

They say you can really know a person by the books they read. And, though in some cases it could be accurate, I think it’s really music what connects us the most. Now, in Mr. Stephen King’s case, we could say this playlist was a pleasant surprise.
