Formula One is coming back to Las Vegas with a spectacular night race on the Strip.
Anything is possible in Las Vegas, even seeing a full F1 race at the Strip, next to Bellagio’s dancing fountains. Formula One is adding a new race for 2023 it will take place in Sin City.
The nocturnal race will take place in November it will be a street circuit of almost 4 miles with 50 laps and 14 curves in which will reach a maximum speed of 212 mph, similar to the F1′s current fastest race.
Apromixatley 1.2 miles of the 3.8 miles of the circuit will take place on the Strip, right where the iconic Las Vegas landmarks are located.
“This is an incredible moment for F1, demonstrating the enormous appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the United States,” said F1 CEO and president, Italy’s Stefano Domenicali, in the statement.
“Las Vegas,” he added, “is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, and, of course, the famous Strip. There is no better place for Formula One than the entertainment capital of the world.”
The last time Formula One was in Las Vegas was in 1982, in the season-ending 75-lap race around Caesar Palace. The winner was Italian Michele Alboreto (Tyrrel-Ford), who took his first victory at the circuit.
